Mayor Eric Papenfuse led ribbon-cutting ceremonies November 1, 2018, at Third and Division Streets for the new pavilion at Italian Lake.

“We thank everyone who helped to make this new pavilion a reality at Italian Lake,” said Mayor Papenfuse. “The new pavilion will allow the City to hold more events to benefit all of our residents and is a great example of our community coming together for a worthwhile project.”

Representatives of the Harrisburg Parks Foundation, including Jeb Stuart and Peggy Grove, attended the event and were recognized for the Foundation’s support of the project.

The existing stage at Italian Lake was built in 1965 but was uncovered.  The pavilion, which is constructed of pressure-treated wood with gutters and downspouts, offers protection from the elements. It also is designed to provide better acoustics for musical events.
