Music Play Area at Reservoir Park

The Harrisburg Parks Foundation is raising funds, in partnership with the City of Harrisburg, to construct an outdoor music play area at Reservoir Park using specially designed percussion instruments that are meant to invite musical exploration in people of all ages and abilities.

The instruments, by Freenotes Harmony Park, are musically tuned sound sculptures that have been designed to be low-maintenance, durable and sustainable, even under heavy use and harsh weather conditions.

Proposed collection of instruments, chosen by the Cougar Band at Harrisburg High School.

The Harrisburg Parks Foundation is raising funds, in partnership with Harrisburg Redevelopment Authority, Capital Region Water, the City of Harrisburg and Char Magaro, to create a new park at 15th and Swatara St in the heart of Allison Hill. The park is being designed with the idea to create a place for the community to congregate, share ideas, relax and recreate. The landscape architect chosen for the project is Debra Kirkpatick R.L.A. Her progressive design concept is one that uses sustainable native plants.
